Lanyon Quoit, Cornwall, with a sky from the Lake District. I think the blue treatment makes it look like something out of a fairy tale. You may think different...

WOW! You need to award yourself an EC for that one, brilliant
K
Lovely treatment that has been done well, should get an EC Award, but the old grouch doesn't give them out that often,he he.
Andy.
No, I don't think different! Very striking.
I think this is one of two EC contenders posted in the last half hour. Probably now a one-horse race after that last comment! (The last one you'll be involved with this week hopefully Andy)

Brilliant. Great composition and I love the colour.
Beautifully put together. Very atmospheric. You can almost hear the Baskerville Hound howling.....
Simply superb.
Fantastic effect, Pete. Literally and metaphorically! The perspective (or maybe the light) of the sky isn't quite 'right' and I think that creates the odd, fairy tale feel. I love this.
I've just come from looking at 'Stone Circle 2' and the difference in moods is quite striking.
I agree that this one should get an EC.
Dave
This works really well. It's almost a shame you had to tell us how you created it as it looks natural.
I see you're a big fan of slightly tinged with blue - not only in your own images but also in your selection of EC's. I'm guessing if you saw this you'd give it an EC, so go on, give yourself an EC. I'm sure most people wont mind.

so, exactly what blue treatment is that then? the rocks look like they're covered in moss. what did you do to it, pete. looks great!
Stunning work Pete. Great composition and combination of images.
John
Tried to be the odd one out and find something to criticise about it, but I can't! I love it.
Great photograph and treatment Pete.
I imagine this would look superb in a variety of tones and each one would impart a different feel to the image

You have made a very atmospheric photo. It's fantastic, I love it.
Helen
This is indeed a Super image, completely PERFECT, go one then, an INDIGO AWARD , click (*:*)
Look at all this brown-nosing ....... pay no attention pete, they're just trying to make you remember them for an EC when they post pics! ![]()
Seriously, very good pic, lovely mood and atmosphere. Colour is great and the composition spot....go on, have an EC, you know you want to!
Dave
Pete I just had a thought, how about you introduce a "Reader's Choice" section, that automatically gets an RC award when it hits say 50 clicks, that way work like this that does deserve recognigtion could get voted for by the readers, just my two pennies worth.
what do other people think?
Stunning image! Agree with comment above about readers choice, good idea. Living in Cornwall I see a million images of the Quoit in shops and on postcards etc. Have to say I haven't seen one this striking anywhere!
I don't think i've ever seen a picture with so many clicks! Worth every one
Technically brilliant, excellent created composition, out-standingly well executed. On top of all that it's good to look at! A good use of manipulation and two excellent original shots merged effortlessly. Even the light seems to match! 64 Clicks and a book full of comments in a few days!!! EC-EC-EC!
David
Superb shot and brilliantly executed digital enhancement. There seems to be and inner light in the stones. Gets my vote.
The detail is amazing as is the light. Superbly worked image.
John

Okay - how'd I miss this one?
For some reason it makes me think of the scones I made in cookery.
The teacher (tried) to take a bite struggled womanfully on and eventually decided I was entirely wasting everyones time trying to learn to cook. The only person in the history of the school to be chucked out of cookery.
Anyway great picture.

Hmmmmm dunno why but I want to add a knight on a motorcycle, holding a sword, in the foreground, with a princess in distress somwhere in the distance and an evil wizard drawing lightning down from that stunning skyscape.............
clicked it anyway 'tho ![]()
I'm liking the stones, and the tones used.. Another place for me to visit someday.
Regards
Mark
very powerful. the thing with images like this is that once you have them, they're there forever.
Love it
chris
nice composition pete, upon closer inspection i've found the light source and shadows on the stones to clash!
the sun is on the right behind the stones, yet we have light falling on the stones from the left.
regardless, this is a truly stunning image. beautiful exposure through out.
That is the nicest shot I think i have EVER seen. Simply amazing. The day I start taking stuff like that i will have made it ![]()
Cheers
Chris
So I found your portfolio Pete.
I am still not familiar with how to use the site and don't find too much time to look around on the net however this site is great!
I just wanted to tell you I really like your Stones and Ruins photo gallery! Great shots and great color shades added to the BW. This one is my favourite probably with the blue tint.
Niki B.
Found this while searching through the galleries for mono images. This is a truly stunning image with great detail and atmosphere, the blue treatment works so well.
Cheers Rick
Interesting to see what was going on in 2004! What's taken for granted today, much harder back then and so all the more impressive...
