My neighbour called me in yesterday to see if some fallen leaves appealed
for a photo. This is my resultant image - hope it appeals.
The flowers were huge - are they a type of chrysanthemum *- hope somebody call tell me for sure.
Thank you for votes for my Blue tit landing on the branch.

Beautifully created, Kate. A very unusual chrysanthemum, though, looks more like a paeony to me. Carol

Excellent image, very well composed to capture something different of a known subject. The use of space in the centre also works for this composition very well, however in my view the image might benifit by cloning out the the darker left side by the wall colour as I find it a bit unsettling to eyes.

I like the composition and the textures you have created in this image, Kate.Smile
Do you use a PS effect to obtain the texture?
I think V1 works the better of the two for me.
I also like the border!

Definitely a paeony and a beauty, too.
V1 is a pleasure to look at. Nice you have a neighbor who alerts you to photo ops.

The dark part on the left is actually the metal vase.

I do like both captures Kate, the composition and texture and subtle frame in V1 makes this my choice but both excellent.

The Peonies don't hold the blooms for long and fall readily with even a mild wind, so you have made the most of this scenario, Kate: a very original and pleasing 'take' and I like each version equally, so 1/2 vote to each today.
Ronnie.

Beautifully done mum.
The peony is the queen of flowers here in Oz,very popular for brides, but also very exclusive over here in WA as it can only be grown in colder climates.
V1 slightly edges it for me ,but i do love both.x
