After lunch at the Castel Sant' Angelo's café and a wander around the upper levels and to the top of the castle, I returned to the café for a drink, and sat at a table looking out and across towards St Peters and the Vatican when this pigeon appeared. I think he was expecting me to feed him, and when he realised I was more interested in photographing him instead, the cheeky blighter flew in and landed on the table after some crumbs left by a previous diner! Thought it suitable for Silly Sunday…![]()

Trev.
Ever the opportunist!
(The pigeon, I mean).
An unusual environmental portrait![]()

That's a very quirky look he's giving you, and a very plump breast under those feathers.
(Thinks - smoked bacon, garlic, olive oil... )

A bird's eye view of the city, Trev. Pasticcio di piccione - dish of the day!!

The pidgeon is well placed but with or without him this is a cracking shot Trev
do you know - I am looking and think this would have made a fine letterbox image minus a good part of that wall, keep the pidgeon in place (just) putting the buildings as a priorty by taking most of the wall out
try it - you could be surprised
its not like me to critique your pics as I am a great fan of yours but this might work even better for you![]()
Honestly Trev, I'm disgusted at you, you didn't feed this delightful model even after this ultra cute pose! I'll buy you a bag of bird seed for the next trip!
Certainly an ideal Silly Sunday picture, Trev. It reminds me of a lot of holiday snaps where one's partner gets into the scene, but in this case it's a cheeky pigeon.
