What a shame about the bottom right hand corner of your shot, have tried to chop the shot but by doing so will soil the composition, maybe in PS or similar editing software. Because its a beautiful photo, everything else is just right including a great defused background.
Mike.
An excellent shot.
The snow on the bird's head really makes this work.
Bren.
You have an amazing portfolio for one so young, Josh, I am really impressed!
Mike mentions the area in the bottom right of this image, and so I have done a modification where I simply cloned some of the fir tree bits into that area so that it doesn't distract the eye too much from your beautiful chaffy.
Pamela.
Very good shot. Excellent noise performance. Apart from the blurred bit that Pamelajean has modified, can benefit a little with a small amount of sharpening, contrast, and a lift on colour vibrance, as seen in the second mod.
Well done.
regards
Willie
Thanks very much everyone for the commments and votes, i had a look at the modifications and you have both edited them very well, i am now starting to notice the difference between the bad and the good!
Josh
A really nice female chaffy Josh in a very nice setting. Try using the aperture priority move when shooting wildlife, you will have more control of your aperture and hence depth of field. Although you seemed to have little noise in this image, using a high ISO like 3200 will increase the chance of noise when cropping images, you can get away with this if using a full frame camera. Using a shutter speed of 1/1250 would be useful for in flight shots, try slowing the shutter and opening the aperture as it will increase the quality in the image.
I have added a mod along the same lines as Pamela and Willie but with a slightly differing crop.
