After yesterdays poor showing, I thought I'd return squarly to my comfort zone.
I will leave the Grosmont images to oneside for a while, tho there are a few more to come.
Earlier this week I was riding my bike in prep for the London / Brighton bike ride (think I've left the prep a little late!!) When I came across two new opportunities for my 5 mile radius project. The fields at the moment are a riot of colour - and the light was amazing, so as soon as I got home I loaded the car up - I must have looked a sight in my cycling shorts - stood in a field. What I like is the hint of movement in the tops of the crop, caused by the gentle breeze.
Anyway let me know what you think.

Wonderful colours. The fields are at their best now. I too, stand in fields in cycling shorts, you are not alone!

Oh yeuk !!!!!!!
Good luck with the bike ride Nick.
Excellent colours here.
Your prievious image was certainly not a poor showing you know, not everyone appreciates how much work actually goes into setting up something like that & sometimes it does you good to step out of that nice warm snuggly zone we call 'comfort' so keep at it Nick,go with how you feel, not others.
Thanks Janet, and thanks for the kind words. I was quite happy with the last image, yes there's room for improvement and I will continue to try different things ( I did yesterday but the results were disappointing) but the only way to learn is trial and error.
As you know I have some ideas for still life which will come together although I doubt they will be as popular as some of my conventional work. What I enjoy about photography is trying new things.
Before I came across this scene I was going to impose a landscape boycott on myself for a while just to force me to try new ideas ( tho I do have several from this night - you've been warned).
