This is John, the electrical supervisor / commissioning engineer, that worked for me on a pumping station project. Here he is making the final checks on a 750kW motor. Once he has completed operator and technician training John will be retiring and will be sorely missed.
I have gone for a nice wide aperture but I do wonder whether the oof cables work or not.
Mods and comments welcome as always.

John's face is the subject, and the rest (including OOF cables) is just environmental context.
The rest is fine...well exposed, sharp, and a good environmental portrait. I would just crop the earth strap out of the RHS as its a bit bright, and the white spot over his head to clean up a little.
Nick
Most of the pipework here is unnecessary to ge tyour picture across and so I have uploaded a mod where I have cropped it out. For me the earth strap can stay as it is an essential part of the earth bonding safety process. The only problem I have with my mod is the location of John's head - somewhat central in the horizontal plane. For that reason I have offered a second mod, with even less of the pipework on display.but the place where the work is taking place is maintained.
Nice work as usual.

Hi Phil,
I'm with Nick.
I wouldn't go cropping lumps out if they're a part of the image as you took it. You took the shot to include the cables, so I'd leave them.
You could lose the 'white spot' though, since it's identity's not evident and I only find the earth strap to be a distraction because of the green stripes. Perhaps you could selectively desaturate it a bit?
Otherwise, I'd leave it alone.
Bren.
