This is actually a groom at his wedding! Still learning new things about photography, thought I'd have a go at portraits as I haven't ever tried them before. Aiming to do lots more. Comments welcome - it's the only way I'll learn!

Really like the expression, use of B&W and general feeling of this shot. Only negative would be it seems to be too manipulated in curves or levels. All in all I like it.

An interesting choice of crop and pose with the cig. It does look a little over brightened. Mybe if you wanted a good b&w effect, it may have been enough just to desaturate the original. Keep trying.

Didn't you put this up earlier with a different title?
Why did you re-load it?
Confused

I like the style of this portrait, a bit harsh and moody, perfect for me.

Kyd - yes I did - it was called married fag - but I realised that it may cause offence! Didn't want to upset anyone!

Ian/Alan - I think you may be right and I may have overbrightened it - trying to be arty I spose!

Thanks for the comments - keep them coming!

This is very nice. I can see what people are saying about it being bright but it's a nice effect if that is what you're going for.

Thanks for your comments on mine.
