I took this photograph just after totality of the recent Lunar eclipse, to try & capture the sunlight re-emerging on the Lunar disk.

Taken at prime focus of an 11-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, from my roof terrace in North London.

I find that the light graduation makes the Moon look unusually three-dimensional Smile

wow this is amazing, i wish i had a lens like that! i tried to take pictures of it and the moon was the size of a pin head. really nice.

This is a fine image, with of course, much better resolution than photographic lenses generally give. Have you thought of combining exposures to include detail in the bright area (HDR/tone mapping...)?
