Geoff brought me a mag with a tutorial in it. Seem this type of thing on EPZ and always wondered how they did it... The tutorial was complicated and probably painful to watch, with instructions (to a learner) not as clear as they might've been (if they had three pages of text to help!)
So... this is my first go-it-alone image. Any suggestions welcome, no need to click!
My beautiful 'baby' sister by the way!
Also, does anyone know if photoshop has any backgrounds for me to use, or are these down to me to find on the net, or do I need to photograph my own?
Thanks for the help and/or opinions!

Hello Angela, Somerset my favorite place (Winsford). Anyway, Technically you have created this very well but I dont think it works with this combination of photo's In addition the background and foregrounds are fighting for prominance. This technique is 'in Vogue. at the moment for Reportage Style Weddings where it does work very well. When doing it you need to make the background much less noticeable by deciding which layer is to be your background and then reducing its opacity. Hope this helps.
Did wonder if it would work with an image of a person, as the tutorial was with flowers... and I'm not very clear I'm afraid... are the flowers too strong or the paper backgrounds? The tree is actually the background to the shot with my sister on it... should I have masked that off and then made it more opaque? To say I'm a beginner would be putting it mildly!
Thanks for your time!
Hi Angela, I think this is an excellent image,I love the composition is lovely, I think personally that these kind of images developed very individually to the artist making them, as I can usually tell straight away whose picture it is from the thumbnail,
when I first started, all I could do was bring a picture into p.s. and add a coloured sphere, if you look at my early pictures you can spot each new thing that I learned as I put new pictures up,
and have to say there is still a lot more I have to learn, hope this helps
Oh by the way I wouldn't try to hard to do it (right) we all have our own way which will make you work individual to you,
maureenhe flowers at the bottom,

Hi... Thanks for comments.
bunbeam... It's kind of complicated but easy! You know how when you import a photo into photoshop it makes a 'level', well, if you do that again, adjust the image size so the second is smaller, and then use the drag tool, you can move the second one over to the top of the first one! Then, in 'layers- layers styles- blending modes' you can tick each one and if you don't like it, click another one until you find one you like, then alter the opacity until you like it! You can move the image over, use 'edit- treansform- scale' (with the 'shift' key so it doesn't warp)to change it's size. All you have to remember is each picture is on a seperate layer and you need to click that layer to work on it. It's fun!
hi... Thanks Jenn... CS2. Only just found out there are all kinds of shaped brushes on it! Maples leaves, stars etc.!! I only use the first three kinds at the moment... a whole new world has just opened!! There is just sooo much to it!
