Market day in Arau!
can't really choose very well so here is the lot.
Just a few bits of useless information. Yes the small chillies are mean and catfish have got nasty burrs. Also, communication can be tricky as my knowledge of Malay is pretty much limited to a few numbers, tea and the stuff we eat.
______________
many thanks to Carol and Gareth for the UA on the bittern
and to John from SA for the ID

I like all four images and couldn't help smiling at the 'Never Ending Radical Dude'.
Some lovely colourful clothes.
The trouble with fish markets anywhere is our lack of knowledge of what they all are and how to cook them.
I used to watch Rick Stein on cookery programmes to learn more about fish.
Anyway great to see what life is like in Malayasia.

With this set you have brought to us all the bustle, colour and almost flavours of this busy Eastern market place, Annette: perhaps my favourite is V 2 with the passersby eyeing the colourful display of clothes followed by V 8 where I imagine a lot of haggling was going on. Such a wonderful experience for you.
Ronnie.
A great insight into market life - very colourful set of shots Annette ![]()

Lovely documentary series. As an unrepentant foodie with a passion for chillies V5 is my favourite but I seriously want that T shirt in V3!
Real food... Sigh... Our Health & Safety would have a fit over some of this but isn't it wonderful to see people in touch with what they eat rather than buying anonymous mush.

Add booze and that has always seemed to me the first principles for getting into any language. Come to think of it I can manage it in quite a few... ![]()

A fine record of local market life, Annette. "Would madam like some fag ash with her fish"![]()

A very good set of travelogue images. I particularly like v1 for the overall view, and for the wonderful light, and v3 which made me smile.
