Thanks for your support on the train images, thought I'd give them a break for a bit.
This one's from a lovely visit with my Dad last week to Dover Castle.

Dover Castle has recently had a refurbishement in the Great Tower, everything lavishly recreated to look exactly as it would of in Henry II's time. It was expertly done and the colours were amazing, so rich and warm, I was like a kid in a sweet shop Wink

King Henry II was one of England's most powerful monarchs. His family included Richard the Lionheart, 'Bad' King John and his strong-willed wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine - all the notorious subjects of many myths and legends.

The aim of the Great Tower project is to evoke the atmospheric interiors of King Henry II's medieval royal court, creating an immersive world in which the visitor stands at the centre of the experience.
Backed by meticulous research, compelling evidence and an army of skilled craftsmen who have re-created the lavish interiors, from wall hangings, stunning furnishings and over 500 intricate objects, the project is considered the most ambitious attempt to re-create a medieval palace in more than a century.

Thanks for your time, as always your thoughts/comments are very welcome.
Regards - Sarah J x

Superb colour composition, Sarah.

Henry II was also responsible for the murder of Thomas Becket, the 'petulant priest', and therefore the founder of the tourist trade in Canterbury Smile

John, Julie - thank you Smile

Julie - It's a good day out, wonderful castle and keep of course, but there's also the Secret Wartime tunnels where the evacuation of Dunkirk was controlled from, the underground hospital and the medieaval tunnels. If that's not enough, there is also a Roman Lighthouse and a Saxon Church to keep you entertained! English Heritage - gis a job Wink
