One for silly Sunday, yhis very strange looking critter is believed to be a species of harvestman spider.
Excellent capture !
Good one, Carol. I love how you have him coming right out of the frame at me.
Fascinating creature and interesting pov in these fine captures Carol. A
Strange looking spider, Carol: rather like V 2 which shows it has done a belly flop, legs hanging free.
It looks menacing Carol but a fine set of record shots.
A very strange specimen.
What is it suspended upon? Is it a piece of pipe/a bar? How large is it?
Thanks for showing it
Excellent captures Carol,
What a weirdy, and I liken the perch, Carol
Strangely lovely. I particularly like the way you have one leg coming across the frame in V1.
Nicely focused on the eyes.
I hope this isn't as big as it looks on my screen...
Good eye contact lol. your welcome not the nicest of spiders to look at, but very well captured, makes me wonder how it gets about on that twig it looks quite clumsy compared to most spiders, three very good captures, regards Leon.
Three rather extraordinary photographs of this extremely well camouflaged arachnoid. Version 1 being my particular favourite. Superb detail.
he really is extraordinary
what a find
not sure I am keen over that orangy in piccy border
Oh Yerks! Glad we don't get them over here. What a monster beastie.
He looks like I feel after a day with my grandchildren!
I've actually got an image of a Harvestman spider - at least that's what I was told it was
on a country walk led by Rangers.
So good to meet one again even a very chilled out one like yours!!!
Very well spotted Carol! Interesting to see! Gill
That is a strange looking thing
str8 out of the ugly bugs ball for sure
He really is flat, like a crab. With funny bulgy eyes. Three great captures.......Sandy
Very unusual creature - he looks like he's made out of rock or rusting metal! Great set as always, Carol
He is a strange one Carol! Love your presentation in v1 - a fine capture with fine detail!
What a wierd and wonderful looking critter Carol, I think v2 is the best, I'm lichen that one very much indeed
Great camouflage well picked out.Nasty lookig critter.I love the colours and detail in the lichen, just the stuff to make a natural dye!!
Besr wishes Robert.
well spotted and captured carol, it looks like part of the twig.
It has great camouflage, one would think it was a stick. Strangely, it has a back like a beetle, and the legs of a spider....maybe it's a beeder.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo not another spider and orrible looking one to but full marks to you Carol for the superb picture
Looks to be part of the branch - did you use your iron to flatten it Carol
Oh goodness! Now THAT'S creepy!
never seen one or heard of before, great photo.
Three great shots of this weird little beastie Carol. V3 my favourite.
They are also known as Daddy long legs & Opiliones.I came to know this recently . As i was aiming to take one of them thinking a long legged spider but my Son in law gave the new ID.
I like the ones best with the yellow lichen on the perch.
Very strange cerature. never seen one of those before. Great capture. paul
Thats like the thing that scurried across the floor in Alien,,lol.
Another introduction to an insect I've never seen Carol,,
