A Mother hovering over her tiny daughter learning to skate . An amazing sight to see ... why? ... Because it was the first time I'd ever seen skating in the grounds of Winchester Cathedral .. I only took 3 photos before someone drew my attention to a notice down by my knees that said No Photography !! Didn't take any more . It was a dull dreary day anyway but when I thought about it there are no Restrictions in Central Park NY. Funny that . Just another bit of my holiday . xx

Belated best wishes for 2008 Mavis, know you had a wonderful Christmas with your daughter and family, as I had with mine. Sorry about the plumbing problem, hope it's soon fixed.
I like your capture of the people enjoying themselves, even though it was taken illegally, seems like a bit of petty bureaucracy to me.
Rgds., Jim
A tender image, Mavis, good for you for showing it. I don't believe that the grounds of Winchester Cathedral are private property, but I may be wrong....

Yes, I'm also glad you got this wonderful shot. I also enjoyed the other uploads I've just looked at - trying to do a bit of catching up.

Hi Ya Mavis,
When I spotted this thumbnail, reminded me of my trip.
We met Andy "Futura" and his wife Elly in NY the first week of Dec. 07, and skated at Rockefeller Center.
We had loads of fun with them and skating, even tho I fell and hit my head on the ice, LOL!
I'm doing much better, I can now chew ice and I can actually drink without drooling.....But it was loads of fun.....LOL!
Just kidding, I am fine-no injuries-just a bruise that is now gone.....Can you tell I'm tired.....![]()
A wonderful image that brought back many good memories for me.....Have a great day,
Suzan ![]()
A wonderful winter image Mavis, they've had an ice rink like this in Kings Square Gloucester for the past couple of years
