Hi Mary, welcome to EPZ and happy christmas,

hope you keep the uploads coming and stick around and enjoy the place..

this is a nice early upload with a lot to credit it. You've filled the frame well with just the two main flowers. The exposure is good, just holding in the detail in the highlights. To give it a bit of a boost, I'd suggest a slight increase (no more than 10-15% each) in brightness and contrast. The pic could be a bit sharper as well- it depends if the original is sharp, sometimes the upload process causes an image to go a bit "soft" - try a small increase in unsharp mask (20%?) on the final small image you're about to upload.

One final criticism, rather a small niggle, is that the background is a little bit distracting. I don't suggest the other flower heads shouldn't be there, but a narrower depth of field (by increasing the aperture and increasing shutter speed) might have thrown the back ground a little bit out of focus. But hey, lovely shot, keep them coming
Stephen

Hi Mary, Welcome to EPZIANs Group....

love the shot very striking image... If you add black borders arround the picture, it'll create more strikes. I think you added more sharpen in Photoshop, use just once Sharpen filter, also back large flower is on shade, try to copy this layers in PS and increase some brightness and delete all other sided of flowers. Agree with Stephen. I'm also not a good photographer but its easy to crticise anything... Smile I just did.

I like the shot.... keep upload more photos we'll wait love it...
