This is day 3 and as you'll see the mushrooms have sustained some damage! I think it might have been caused by one of the many dogs that get exercised in that area and hopefully wasn't done maliciously. I'm pretty sure it was dogs as we took great care in making sure that the mushrooms were hidden from view, plus they were quite well placed under a large bush with plenty of cover from ferns, but the most obvious clue is the huge turd not 10cm away!
I went back this morning and nothing much had changed so this will be the last in the series I'm afraid.

This is fantastic image. I would attempt to clone out that white shape from the background.

Pav, normally so would I but the idea is that this is the third in a series that I'd originally hoped would last all week. If you take a look at the previous two images you'll see that the white shape in the back is actually the remains of another mushroom and leaving it there, hopefully, adds context.
