Its a good shot. Perhaps zooming out would have included more of the left wing, but perhaps there was some obstructions you wanted to exclude. One tip, - when shooting into the sky, use a +1 exposure compensation in general, as the cameras meter will be unduly influenced by the brightness, and can underexpose somewhat. This isnt too bad as the plane itself is largely a bright colour, but a little work on exposure makes a difference.
I have uploaded a mod to show what I mean, - just a curves adjustment to brighten and improve contrast.

Willie

You have done well here with sensible EXIF (high shutter speed for your 300mm FL) except that I think I would have stopped down to f8 and with 1/1250sec you would still be able to hand hold successfully.
Mind you I would have preferred to see this closer to 220 FL so that all of the plane could be within your frame. A positive exposure compensation is generally required but given the dark sky the need lessens a little.
Nice nevertheless.

I like this in general - lots of impact, but it is a touch under exposed which gives the impression of a colour cast towards cyan. The aircraft should be white? White plane and bright sky + under exposure with most metering systems on auto. I use a hand meter when I can in difficult situations with incident readings, but a good hand meter is now rather expensive.
