a kestrel on evening patrol over the meadow. How I would love to be able to fly with them and get out of here for a while see something else than the same road to work and back the same forest, the same all. Summer has gone and I still would love to travel, even for a week. Well I suppose I have to be glad to have work and a garden.

Many thanks for you comments and votes on the rusty eye.

Fine in flight shot with the sun catching on the undersurfaces, Annette: sympathise with your comments about both being able to take to the air and to having a break away, something we haven't managed either for a few years.
Ronnie.

Spot on light. Perfectly timed. Love the contrasting goldens tones of the subject against the stark blue sky.

I'll be there too. Smile
I agree with Jennnn -- the golden light on the underside of the wing is magical.

Excellent in-flight capture with great details and light. If you discount going shopping and a trip to the hospital with George last month, in much the same boat as you! However, worse things than having a comfy home and a garden to work in!!

Superbly composed shot of a lovely creature.

You sound like me Annette, born with wanderlust and never happy unless travelling to new places. My idea of heaven is a one way ticket to anywhere and enough funds to buy everything when I get there.

A fantastic shot of this majestic bird soaring high in the sky, I too have hardly been out this summer. What with family health problems and work I've hardly been anywhere either
