a kestrel on evening patrol over the meadow. How I would love to be able to fly with them and get out of here for a while see something else than the same road to work and back the same forest, the same all. Summer has gone and I still would love to travel, even for a week. Well I suppose I have to be glad to have work and a garden.
Many thanks for you comments and votes on the rusty eye.

Beautiful capture Annette, some excellent wing detail and a super composition,
Fred.
Superbly composed shot of a lovely creature.
You sound like me Annette, born with wanderlust and never happy unless travelling to new places. My idea of heaven is a one way ticket to anywhere and enough funds to buy everything when I get there.
Perfect angle/placement in the square - all that open sky to watch and swoop into.
Moira
Lovely light, Annette, and very well placed in the frame.
Dave
Really well done Annette, like the light captured under the wing and tail too,
Geoff.
Looks as if he is showing off for you, Annette. Love the light.

A fantastic shot of this majestic bird soaring high in the sky, I too have hardly been out this summer. What with family health problems and work I've hardly been anywhere either
