Taken near the location of yesterday's upload, just a few minutes earlier.

This time I did filter out some of the noise, not all of it, because I thought that although the noise does add to the atmosphere, this treatment made the plant look a bit nicer.

Anyway, your views are welcome, as are mods.

Thanks for looking!

Conrad

This looks very good. Not too sure about the tilting (since I'm constantly tilting my head to get a better look at it).
Beautifull, nearly colourless image.

beautifully crisp capture, think the angle enhances the image

Nicely seen but can't make up my mind about the tilt. Have had a little play with it.
Tony

Edit: Perhaps if you cloned out the two bits of web hanging below the main seed head it might look more convincing.

Thanks, guys!

Especially you, Tony, for the mod. I like your work on the background, and the toning is quite nice, too.

About the tilt:

I was trying to avoid some things on the left and right that I thought might distract. Tilting the camera was one way of doing that, and I was in a playful mood, so I suppose that's how it came about. Whether or not it's the right angle for this image, I don't know. But I appreciate the comments, and might try a different orientation as well. I have some more shots that I can play with.

Thanks!

Conrad

Love the angle! But then, I would wouldn't I? Wink

On this subject, the thing to keep in the back of one's mind is - imagine this shot taken by 10 different photographers, all lined up next to each other (the shots, not the 'togs) and the other nine being straight.

Which one would stand out? (it's not a trick question).

Good work Conrad. Best wishes, as always, Simon

Really need the large version to appreciate this Conrad. Good frost detail and I like the misty background. I'd be interested in seeing another with a little more dof, to include the stem.

More dof was hard to come by in these conditions, Ian - I was glad to get this shot at all, since just a little less light would have meant no shot at all, because I didn't have my tripod with me. Thanks for your comment!
