Morning all!

This one is dedicated to Moira (MrsWoolybill). She has noticed that a recurring theme on this site is for gentleman photographers to go into the 'Gents' with their cameras. (Myself included!) and why not? One would not want it pinched would one? and then upload the picture.

Anyway, to continue this theme, but with a twist, here's a trend that is ever increasing in London, Gents 'outdoor' urinals, which can be found at the side of the street. These two were found in Hoxton.
Do other parts of the country also have these?

An unfortunate trickle has appeared on V1 (nothing to do with me, I hasten to add!) and those rather eyecatching cow camouflaged bins... are they providing a similar service for any passing cows I wonder?

Any other ideas?

Thanks for looking,

Tony

A need to aim properly Tony ! excellent observations of London. You must have a very good p/f by now. Ron.

I've seen something similar to these at an outdoor concert, but never just on a street.
Nicely seen.

Not got any of these in Edinburgh yet but they seem a good idea. I think they need to judge better the amount that people drink when they go out though, that trough looks a bit small. Smile

Do they rolled out each day or are they there all the time I wonder?! It must be a very delicate procedure if they need lifting to empty ..... yuck, bagsy not doing that job! Well observed Tony.

Down here they are called shop doorways but are only used at night

Never seen one, Tony, though I think we need them. Shop doorways suffer badly here too!

A space age version of the traditional French pissoir, à la Clochemerle. The trickle I think is crucial to the image, it makes it so much more atmospheric. So to speak...

we use to have something similar, but they were a bit to hidden and private...
the council took them off because they were considered "undecent"...
curiously, the name was Vespasiano, an emperor of ancient Rome, who was the first one to introduce them.
two thousend years of culture canceled!
good eye, Tony

Not so much fun as the canal-side urinals in Amsterdam. If you were quick you could run to the canal edge and see it coming out of a pipe into the canal! Smile
Loks like this one is only for ' big boys'.
