A baboon family in the South Luangwa Valley, Zambia taken last month. I could watch these animals for hours. Their expressions and behaviour are very human. They live in large troops and have a complex social structure with the males seeking dominance. After watching this group, we saw a male attack a baby, causing serious injuries, and other males trying to beat him off. No one seemed to know what had caused this unprovoked attack - alarming behaviour which also applies to homo sapiens.

A wonderful experience to see these animals in their natural habitat and you have got a couple of fine shots, Vicky: I suppose the attack you describe is all part of the normal pattern and structure in their lives but it must be hard to stand by and witness.
Ronnie.

Gang culture animal-style. Just shows what certain sections of society are devolving to.
