So the first shrub to flower in our parts (Philadelphia) is the forsythia. This is rather a close shot macro of a small flower, in Herman's terminology, and untidy flower. For those of us who grow them, it is a rule of thumb that when the forsythias are blooming is the time to prune the roses......so prune I did last week. And, thank you all for your votes on my tulip series....which may not be over quite yet.

The flowers are really quite small, Jocelia. This is a rather extreme closeup. The bushes are filled with small yellow flowers.
