Fountains Abbey, founded in 1132, the abbey operated for over 400 years, until 1539, when Henry VIII ordered the Dissolution of the Monasteries. It is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England.
I visited Fountains Abbey for the first time during the summer, well I say summer, it was like summer but wetter.
After the wonderful toning mods that Lynnejoyce did for me on Tudor Mansion II, I am now encouraged to continue processing variations.
V2 Black and White
V3 Seipa
V4 Split Tone

It's a great location, and you've got yourself positioned very nicely here to frame the Abbey. I rather like the mono V2 as my fave ![]()

Lovely shot and you have capitalised on it wonderfully with the mono and duotones. I always love it when I can get several images out of one shot.
I do like them all they all work for me, very nice tones with goof detail.

A really fine composition, David. It has overtones of 18th century English landscape work, which of course it is!
V3, for preference.

Bill
