This was only the second freight train I saw in my time in Louisiana. The first one was late one evening and we passed it on the way home and it was over a mile long!!
This one was empty and stationary and we saw it at 9 am on our way into town. I was miffed as it was the other side of the highway and we couldn't stop. It was still there though at 2 pm so I managed to get this shot.

For a train lover it must be a great sight, for a layman like me well "It's just a train"

Fab. I'm no train buff but there's something quite captivating and awe-inspiring abut these particular beasts in their natural open environment!

I love trains generally - there's something mystical about freight trains in the American South - great shot.

The first one we saw had three engines pulling it, compared to engines in the UK they are huge.i could have walked up to this one and touched it but we had nearl 24 hours of rain the day before and there was water preventing me getting any closer
