Hi Folks,
here is my offering from yesterday's jaunt to Froggatt Edge. Sky wasn't great but still managed to squeeze a few images out of it. More importantly, it was great to meet up with a fine body of chaps and finally put faces to a few names.
This shot was taken towards the sunrise (albeit a rather weak one!) looking away from the edge. The sliver of white running from the left to centre frame is White Edge, living up to it's name!
Thanks to Chris C, Phil Newman, Running Man, Wharmby, Gilmorton, Martin W and CDM36 for a very enjoyable morning.
Shot is processed by my usual methods but with the addition of a HDR layer, worked back into the image to bring out the colour.
Thanks as ever for your comments, crits and votes. Always valued.
Andy

I have a lovely mental image of you squeezing the sky! Lovely shot.
Nicely dramatic colour in the sky and great detail from front to back!
Andy
A lovely composition, Andy, and a well executed shot.
I'd be very tempted to add a little contrast to the foregound to give a little more "bite" and tonal separation to the bottom left corner. It may be worth experimenting with a curves layer set to multiply and a very low opacity (10 - 25%) and a gradient mask to protect everything else. It may work for the better, or may not!
Cheers
Bill

Great shot Love the colours
I would like to see it cropped on the leftside so that the larger clump of grass is more in the corner
Tho perhaps that wouldnt work cos you would loose the finer fronds from it ...

Thanks Barbara - yes, I can see your point.
You've pulled a cracker out of the bag with this one Andy, a fine image.

PS This was the same morning as the rest of us?
I have an old pound note waiting to be added to your collection. You did say old used notes didn't you!
The trees against the light part of the sky work well, and you've brought out some nice colour,
Michael
Thanks very much folks.

Doh! That's not gone the way I hoped!
What a beautiful capture, great light and color, very good shot ![]()
Great shot, Andy - the trees seem to have personality. I'd probably crop a little off the left.
