View across the Firth of Clyde from the Ayrshire coast yesterday: Arran and the Holy Isle lie in the mist on the horizon.
{Keen eyes may pick out a slight light 'halo' in the sky along the rock edges.........this is present in the original file, I'm not sure why, and is not a processing artefact}

My thanks to all who supported my last posting, and special thanks to Patrick {JPatrickM} for his User Award which is much appreciated.

Ronnie.

Excellent shot Ronnie. I love the faint suggestion of land on the far side of the Firth.
Patrick.
I can only guess that the halo effect could be a result of the JPEG processing. Did you save a RAW file?

A fine image, Ronnie, wonderful sunlight outside the cave, with the land in the distance, well composed and captured. Hope you didn't get caught by the incoming tide Smile Carol

Lovely composition Ronnie, and I like how you have caught the wave just before it breaks. Lovely shot. Moira

Nice detail on the rocks Ronnie - looks like a cold day.

Looking at this you find yourself waiting for the waves to come rolling in around the rocks and on to the pebbles. Very attractive composition, nicely framed .

a nice view Ronnie - but it is the 'frame' which is so beautiful - those rocks the wave-- all the ingredients for a splendid seaside shot.
the halo... maybe it is a wee bit of vapour from the wet rock evaporating in the sun

Good morning Ronnie good use ot the big rocks to frame your shot and timeing was excellent capturing the breaking wave as for the halo Ronnie i cannot see anything on my hi def digital monitor

blue skies again this morning

Well framed Ronnie, using the two rocks.
I can just detect the halo, with my reading glasses onSmile
Could be owt, though possibly a metering isue, with the blue sky against the dark rocks.

The abrupt change from dark to light and the "normal" processing that is set in your camera is enough to cause the ghosting Ronnie. It's a fine day to beat the seaside.
