Twisleton Scar, early on Saturday with Fran. T'was a might cold on the top, but a very pleasant morning none-the-less.
Hope you're all enthused with being back to work today ... can't say I am though
Have a good day, catch you later. Thanks for popping in
Go on then have a vote, just coz your next to me!
Seriously, enjoying these, it's an area I have bever been to, might just change that this year.
It looks like a painting!
Lovely bit of frost next to a teriffic sky
another cracker Paul, good colour and tones, well composed, a nicely presented image.
I prefer the closer views of the tree Paul as it adds a bit of relief to the image.
Lovely shot Paul, with great composition and a watercolour sky. I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you clone out the two black lumps - one to the left, and one to the right of the tree. They are a distraction at the moment and removing them will improve the image dramatically. It looks very cold up there, but it was certainly worth the hike to get this superb shot. Best wishes Gary
Beautifully composed Paul.A cracker.
Looks like we have a bit of footy rivalry later in the month.
Blimey, cheers all for your time
This, or the portrait version are probably my personal faves from the morning, the detail in them just leap out in print but doesn't fare quite so well here. Glad to see it's attracted your attention though
No problem in suggesting that at all Gary, fair point too, but as those bushes were there I left them in ... might have a look later though.
and you're off to a fine start Paul.... lovely shot especially with that fine dusting of snow
It's actually a very heavy hoar frost Ange, does look like snow admittedly. HNY to you!!!
Thanks also Sylvia,
mightly jealous of this shot mate, I think the whole team might have to return here at some point??
first chuufin' nice day here, (snow and sun) and I'm back at work...booo
Absolute belter, well done

Good ... a possible for the Saturday maybe???
Superb shot of your tree Paul
Been stood in that very spot myself.. Its a great place to be isn't it.
Looks well mate
Nice detail and colour
Like the comp too
That's a fine looking shot Paul.
Ooooh I bet it was cold up there...
Not my tree I'm afraid Mark, I think it's either Jeanie's or Melanie's ... I will let them fight amongst themselves!!!

... but probably not quite as high up as I was, the tripod & column was fully extended - even for me
A might cool, yes, Kathy
Cheers all, enjoy your day,
possibly my favourite from your trip, pretty sky.
That really is a great place. Like the comp on this one.
Thanks Maddie, mine too ... hope you both had a great time over the festivities.
Ta too Sue
sounds good to me
I love the way the light frosted landscape is complemented by the light tones of the sky, Paul. And that composition is faultless.

It's cold, snowing, Monday and I'm back at work. I'm the grumpiest man in all of Grumpiland.
Nice one Paul, makes me cold just looking
Very nice sir, very pastel in the colours if you know what I mean
Cheers guys ... nearly didn't recognise you Keith with the username change
Never tire of looking at pictures of "this tree". Must visit it some time
Lovely sky on this one.
excellent work Paul, looks bloody freezing up there
very very surprised that this hasnt got a premier paul, this is really beautiful mate.the comp is belting.you are a clever bugger.
Hi Paul, definately your best image so far from this visit. Like the way the limestone snakes through the image.
Only ever shot this the once myself Ian, but I hope to go back under better, more dramatic conditions myself.
Wasn't too bad Gary, though not exactly toasty
Glad you both think so Ian and Mr Ler
Off to find another shot to post now!
Another planet? Great shot.
Ha, you did find it. Good to see someone elses take on the place. I see a few crops in here that will all work.
Nice composition with excellent clarity
Very well composed Paul & the exposure is spot on for all the great textures on the rocks...which take me right into the image from front to back.
Nice one !
I'd spotted it last time TBH Melanie, but ended up concentrating on one area, so made a note to visit it next time I returned to the area.
Thanks all for your valued time, votes and comments ... means a lot
Fantastic series of beautiful pictures from Twistleton Scar! I like composition here and very nice details in foreground. Sky is great too. Great job Paul!!!

Me neither. Thankfully I'm on a course until Thursday, but it's a struggle! lol
Cracking shot mate. The texture/lines look really good. The viewpoint works particularly well.
Perfect composition and some superb tones really make this stand out.
First class image!
Superb capture Paul of Glacial erosion and without that lone tree this would be nothing. Great viewpoint and depth
Actually, today wasn't as bad as I'd thought it would be TBH Sean, then again, it was quite quiet and I spent more time on here than I would normally
Cheers everyone, enjoy your evenings.
Fantastic shot !
Great image, but you had to mention the 'W' word didn't you!
... oops, sorry, wasn't I suppose to Chris?
