Taken lying on my stomach on ice. I saw this little plant sticking out of nowhere struggling for life. This plant is about 3"inches high. I just loved the shaped it formed.

Now how did I have a sneaky suspicion that it was you, Pat? Love the photo, for daring the 'emptiness', that golden yellow against the blue, pure magic. That's the only way to get your shots, he? Move it, shake it... CLICK (*:*)
You get some cracking shots, the low angle you have taken it from brings out all the detail and the beautiful shape of the plant. Superb light, as always a quality photograph.

Thank you for all your comments, you guys are all too great. To answer your question Mike. No I didn't have to put anything between me or the camera and the ice. This shot was taken directly lying on it , I was hand holding my camera.

Beautiful color and contrast! I love the cold feel of the ice and the warm tones of the plant. Sort of a whole life and death feel to it. Great job!
