A great idea you have here a few suggestions I can make is may be partner the vegetables with other veg or similar items which would give the overall effect you're trying to accomplish. The apples look lovely but may be a little too shiny for this particular layout against an old style textured background.

Perhaps tone down on the aqua colour a bit. I can see it helps make the subject stand out but may be lighten it a little or even see what it looks like removed. The good thing is the apples and veg appear to be well well grounded.

All I can suggest is practice because it's that which will ultimately help improve this kind of work.

Hope this helps.

The apples look like plums to me! And I think they don't fit with the asparagus, which in itself is a direct copy of existing photographs.

Exposure is good and the execution is quite good too, though it doesn't look critically sharp. I like the distressed look and the colours.

You're right Nick they do look like plums, sorry about that Keepers I should've taken a closer look... I was quite intrigued by the background at the time.
