Evening all. Finally a day with a reasonable bit of sun, despite the wind
. Took myself off to the hides at Loch of Kinnordy near Kirriemuir. Was hoping to see the osprey fishing - but no luck today. Did however see a few ducks that I have never seen before. This is a Gadwall - at least I hope it is, am sure that you will correct me if I am wrong. Also saw teal, lapwings, mallards, redshank and swans. So happy with myself today. Thanks for C&Cs on yesterday's upload.

Nicely captured, Moira. Glad you've found that mysterious yellow orb in the sky!!
Dave
Mmmmmmm, never had you down as a serious birder Moira, but you can't be as this one is not on a stick. My knowledge of water birds is severely restricted (swans, mallards and the occasional goose) so I can't help with the species, but I can observe that this is a lovely shot with fine detail colours and textures.
what a lovely plumage, and inquisitive eye and nice environment ![]()
Sun? where?
