A gateway, and a path, but to where? (One day I shall show where the path leads)
I was rather taken by the patterns and the contrasting elements of light and shade here.

I've tried this idea several times, but never found a gate that works (phographically). Now this gate has real character, and contributes to the air of mystery suugested by the title. Nice.

The abstract element to this shot adds enormously to this Ronnie, thoughtfully observed by yourself in your choice of title, the kind of shot I like.........but never seem to see for myself.

Hi Ronnie, great image mate. What first grabbed my attention was the lighting. Makes one feel as if they were there walking that woodland path.
In my book that makes this image "Top notch"

A bit of mystery Ronnie, I love these old kissing gates, I used to install them at one time on play-parks and public walk ways although the modern ones have lost the character of the older ones.
fine image well picked out.

Adrian confirmed my suspicion that this is known as a kissing gate, and what a fine example. Could this be another scene where your walking presence would look good, at the other side of the gate, perhaps walking away? One of the footpaths that I cycle down used to have one of these, and I had to lift the bike over it. Sadly, it has now been removed.
