Having had my teenage son home all weekend ... which is a bit like being in a very enjoyable train crash... (sorry for lack of clicks and comments - I must catch up)... today was a home day ... phew! ...so my kitchen window sill became my focus .. here is my kitchen geranium that brightens every early morning cup of tea.

love the colour and detail in the subject and your choice of background enhances it further
These colours are a borne winner! The subject really fills out the picture, very clever illusion.

I think the color, light, composition on here are perfect. Normally, I wouldn't like the fact that you can see the shadow on the background, but in this case, since it looks more like colored light shining through the flowers, I think it adds to the appeal.
