Liverpool went crazy as the Giant Puppets return. Thousands out on the streets to watch the story unfold. Taken in Chinatown, Liverpool earlier today.

C&C welcome as always.

I'm not surprised, they look amazing, wish I could have seen them.
I was on the way to another destination a couple of weeks ago and stopped off in Beverley and they had a puppet event, puppets have come along way since Punch and Judy!

Three very interesting captures, I wonder if they would grace Worthing with their presence?

The image of the puppet worked really well in mono and like others around the country I would like to see them in my part of the world. Nice shots.

I'm so glad you included the puppeteer, that's the story here for me. V1 is quite extraordinary, we have the direct eye contact with the puppet, but the real communication comes from the lady pulling the strings.
I keep hoping these will visit Newcastle...

Marvellous images of this massive marionette event, I particularly like V1 showing the puppeteer.

I've never heard of this. Is it an annual event? Super shots.

Hi Chris. Not an annual event. They first appeared two years ago in Liverpool to tell a story linked to the Titanic. This time they were invited back by the Mayor of Liverpool as part of the centenary of the First World War. Quite a spectacle.

Is it only me (probably!) but the puppet reminds me facially of Michael Jackson...especially in #3.
