First light breaks through the mist on the horizon and casts a warm glow that catches the upper peaks of the Gritstone on top of Curbar Edge.
After the monos, thought it about time I offered up a colour version for you
Cheers for your time on this one and my previous offerings ... catch up when I can today.
Nice light in the foreground and the composition leads the eye right up those rocks and into a wonderful scene on the horizon. For me the colours definitely have the edge over the mono's but that's purely my preference. Anyway, enough waffling...great shot Paul. Still got lots to work on from the last couple of days. Thanks for your recent support
Excellent depth to this Paul and I do like the rocky foreground and detail.
We had a competition last night and one of our images was similar to this with a heavy rocky foreground which was critisised a little for being overpowering and distracted from the overall view.
Personally I didn't agree as you take what you see and like this the rocks add to the composition and lead you in to the mist and view in the distance.
Its all about opinions really.I am waffling now.
I'm not waffling.....it's good
A hint of winter creeping into this one, lovely British landscape
Big thanks all and sorry for taking time to respond ... just a little busy designing a website for a client.
Stop waffling Tom
Enjoy your afternoons folks
Like the light and mist in the valley good details and colours too.
I like a strong foreground and this is a good un. The rest of the image isnt bad either!!
Nice depth, light, compo is spot on and the mist adds the iceing.
I like Waffles.
Ta you lot, have a great evening too
Just needs a Buzzard plonked on the middle-ground rock , and a nice vignette to contain that top left light from intruding.
Quote: Just needs a Buzzard plonked on the middle-ground rock
... just off to find a license free shot, preferably with its wings fully outstretched. As for the vignette - go and wash yer mought out
... of course I meant 'mouth' there, but my sausage fingers can't spell
LOL ... Heathen
That'll be the directional light I seem to have missed then, damn.
Only a little bit of it Neil, there probably wasn't much where you were as it was quite localised
Well worthy of a few of your pixels here mate. Nicely composed that.
