I like the composition and I love Scotland. But, for me this image is just tone mapped too much, there is no shadow detail at all, it looks lifeless if that makes sense. Tone it down a touch and get a bit of shadow detail in there and some contrast and it'll be a completely different image. Sorry, just being honest.

There is no such thing as the perfect photo for everyone and if you intended to produce an image that had the feel of a painting then this is great and has succeeded very well. I can however see what Simon means and personally tend to agree with him for this particular shot but it is just personal taste.
