Thank you all for your great comments and votes yesterday, after a few questions arose yesterday about how old were the flats! I asked around today about them, they are about 48 years old, not really old for a property when there are so many waiting for accommodation! If you look at the last but one photo the flats behind the lady are the ones being demolished the last photo was taken by me a few years ago for a local newspaper of the Summer Fate. What I do not understand is why these are being torn down and as far as I can see not being replaced, it does not make sense to me.

Interesting set with version 1 being my favourite Trev.

It is strange that they were only built in 1964 and are being being demolished?

very good reportage of their final demise, Trev: seems odd that there are no plans for redevelopment.

Diggers at Dusk! So many different skies to highlight
the demolition.
Good image of mother and child with said houses behind
and as they were!
Ah well that's progress!

Another fine set, Trev, and a great follow-up to yesterday's upload. On going into the centre of Wakefield from where I live you pass the old DHSS building (or could) which has always been an eyesore. It's long been empty, and over the last few weeks they have been demolishing it, and only a bit remained this morning when going into town. If I'd have thought, I should have recorded its demolition as you have here!

Well Trev, the end result was worth it, seeing as Ca-Moron and co. are trying and taking playing fields away to build on and take the public money, to fill the empty coffers, good bit of social history there, regards leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

The variety of skies grab my attention Trev - are they real? or have you created them? Whatever it's a great set.
