A very different offering from me today. This lady is carrying/balancing two baskets on her shoulders on a bamboo stick. This is a familiar sight if you've been to Vietnam, where women use the baskets to carry goods on their shoulders. In this case, the lady is going to the sea to buy fish and carry it to the market. It is hard work as each load is around 40-50kg on their shoulder and they have to carry it for quite a long distant too. The men don't have to do this hard labor work though.
Have a great weekend
Yung

Lovely image Yung. I have been to this wonderful country and to the Fish Market in Hoi An and seen the heavy loads the women carry. you are right they are heavy & it is hard work. You have captured a beautiful image

For me the sidelighting picking out detail along the woman's profile combined with a fine seascape (even without her) elevate this one to a truly striking image and up there with the very best.

Very atmospheric and so much detail on the horizon I love the way the light just catches the figure

Quote: I admire your work Yung, but when you inject a human element to it you move it beyond your normal (very high) standard and into something really very special. Then I love it.
All the best,
Adam
Adam just about sums up my thoughts perfectly. The occasional images you produce with with a human element are magical.

I could look at this for hours, Yung. It has all been said above, so suffice it to say, if I had an award to give each day, it would be yours. So here is this week's.
