Another strong composition, combined with those late afternoon colours you always capture so well. Nice detail in the shadows leading through the bridge, and it was good of you to include a lone figure as a focal point. Good work Eric.
This surely is called the 'whalebone' bridge - was liverpool a whaling town in times past - the influence looks obvious to me ???
Effective shot Eric - right time of day
i instantly thought it was the resemblance of a whale skeleton as well. wonderful colours and the central composition works well in this one.
Great composition and colour in this. Must admit I thought of a dinosaur skeleton when I saw the thumbnail.
Thanks for your comments Tony, Dave, Adam and Kathy. Good to hear from you all. It was the skeletonal aspect of the bridge which appealed to my eye, that and the way the sun's rays penetrated the framework. I have a shot taken from the other side which I think I'll put up next. Don't think Liverpool was ever involved much with whaling, David.
The steel arches also reminded me of giant calipers, the type used on maps to measure distances.
Super, never saw that in Liverpool, MUST go back, a good image of a wonderful structure, unreal colours, a recognizable Faragh Click (*:*)
Never seen this before. Will seek it out. Another good shot Eric.
Wow,this is great Eric,light,colours,composition!!
Thanks Magda, David and Stefania. This is part of the new complex of buildings on the further side of the seacat terminal.
Forgive me for saying so, Eric, but this shot doesn't quite works for me. The bridge is well captured but I feel a lower viewpoint (of less DoF) would have been far better with a view to eliminiating the background detail which although showing the bridge with it's surroundings tends, I feel, to confuse with the eye not knowing if to look at the bridge or the building on the right or the building on the left. As a record shot excellent but pictorially not as good as other images of yours I have seen.
Good image, I like the structure of the bridge, something different.
Love the symmetry in this shot Eric. The colours are superb as well. I always enjoy looking at your portfolio as there is a real sense of adventure in your work.
Another great composition Eric. Really super colours too! Wonderful capture.
Thanks for your comments Brian, Gary, Hudson and George.
I was kneeling down for this one, if I remember rightly, Brian. I must admit, the main subjects being so eye-catching I didn't really think about attempting to limit the dof. Considering the length of the bridge, it would be a real feat to keep it sharp at both ends and yet still have infinity out of the dof. I don't think I've a lens that could do it. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I may see what I can do the next time I'm in the area.
It's another cracker Eric.

Light colour and shadows all make this a great bit of camera work Eric...the clarity is clear and sharp. Well seen.
