Went for a walk this morning (lovely day in Scotland)
and saw this beautiful tree - couldn't isolate it so colour popped
instead.
Many thanks for votes yesterday for Geraniums in Blue Pot
and constructive criticisms.

Interesting you have done the grass as well, Kate. I wouldn't have thought of that and it works very well. Quite a striking image with that vibrant colour.

I agree with Dave that keeping the colour in the grass as well does work rather nicely, Kate. The autumn colours are starting to show now and this tree is displaying so well. Not an easy subject but your chosen composition also works nicely.
Ronnie.

An image which works really well with the use of the rather well executed colour splash/pop.

The road leads in to the tree Kate to make a good composition, you have some detail on the right side of sky but none on the left, why not work on that side to bring back detail, the colour popping works well with a 50-50 split.

Regards

Trev.

Excellent piece of work Kate, love it. Not only does the colour popping work, but the composition is good too... That sweeping curve of road, matched by the fence lead you right to the subject of the image... Spot on!

This is an interesting verge side tree. Going into changing colour too.
The grey leafed one on the fence looks interesting too. Nice one Kate….Wink

A lovely capture. Autumn leaves are magic. I like the texture in this one.
So colour and texture go well.
Well done. WesternRed.
