Acquired these bottles last week, thought they would be something different to play with. Have thought about cleaning them, but not sure what with, and to be honest quite like the filth on them.
All C&Cs welcome
Thanks for looking
The dirt has made it an interesting still life...John
These old bottles are very photogenic and can be used a lot Den !! I am sure you will find many uses for them !!
Great image, Den - I'd leave the bottles as they are!
While on the whole I agree with your decision don't forget that clean old glass can give you some interesting light effects (transmission, reflection, refraction, plus distortions due to imperfect manufacture). You'll just gave to find some more bottles
Don't clean - I have a collection of carefully washed bottles and they're not nearly as interesting.
Really nice grotty textures, some blown highlights.
The dirt does give some different and interesting textures, Den. Now, with another 6 you could start a series based on a song .
(ps... I would have washed them)
Nice Image. I like it a lot!
As Moira says, don't wash them. You can use clean ones, old or new, for shooting anyway, Den. The dirt is what counts here, for me. I love old bottles.
A wonderfully nostalgic image, full of Victorian charm and grime.
Stick some candles in them!
nice shot with the grime, another shot when you clean them up too.
