Grad being Slovenian for castle and Raca for duck Grin

Lake Bled is such a beautiful part of Slovenia. Easily our favourite part of the holiday.

Hand held 1/125sec, f13 on Iso200 @50mm.

I'd love to go to Slovenia. The Eastern Bloc countries have some of the most interesting places. This is gorgeous and I can imagine sitting just where the girl is and wondering how to get up to the castle and what it'd be like to live there.

Like the title, the explanation even more so! Beautiful light and tone, this lends an air of such tranquility. The fact that the ducks don't appear to be at all fazed by the human presence (whose figure itself adds wonderful scale) is adds to the overall impression of peace. Lovely stuff.

Regards.

The castle and its situation remind me of the Rhineland, but more precipitous.
A gorgeous scene; the autumn colours reflected in the lake are especially attractive.

Looks to have been a popular one Dave! Sorry I missed it and only just catching up now; a busy weekend of work meant little time for the fun stuff! Great control of the light here, I can still see the patchy effect on the far woodland but nothing is too dull in the foreground. There's some good human and feathered FG interest with the castle providing a balancing FP and all so well positioned within the frame.
