After a rather nasty attack of domesticity today, I did settle down to play with my food, and other items.

I decided it was time to change the background and 'table' although I'm not convinced the background is black enough - might be a bit patchy? I can't decide. Anyway, I've produced four images that I think are acceptable but, as usual, am now having second thoughts.

Therefore I'm uploading now before I change my mind........

It's missing a few bits and only has three strings - plus I have no bow to go with it so the answer is no Smile I seem to recall I played a bit in my yoof but that was too long ago to remember much Smile

Thanks folks Smile

Plain old window light today - a bit of white foamboard to the right to bounce a wee bit of light back onto the books but that's about as technical as it got Smile

Like the details and tones in this Alison, just wonder if you need as much black, as a crop from the top will focus you more on the items
Just my thoughts

Actually Richard I did take a load of the black off before uploading - the version I've kept has even more - I do like lots of empty space Smile

I do appreciate that others may well not agree with me Smile

What I would like to do is get that blasted candlestick to stand up straight - I shall have to start packing out one side to straighten it up!

The violin and grapes would have been enough for me.
"If music be the food of love, play on". No?
However it is interesting to see how you think!

I do have one of just the violin and grapes - I put it in my blog but maybe it will come out into the gallery - I'll take another look at it later Smile

Of course being a total non-romantic 'music be the food of love' never even occurred to me - I was aiming more for the symbolic brevity of life which all the vantias pics represent Smile However I'm not maudlin either - I just veer towards the dark side Smile
