Most of you now know, but for those who do not! Sadly after I put on the photo and email I went to bed, in the morning there was another email letting me know a mistake had been made, I have copied the email below, lucky I was able to stop our local paper from publishing the wrong advice. As the 50 images are now on the website I am not pleased with the colour of the photo, it is nothing like the one I uploaded to them.
Dear Trevor,

Super image Trev, excellent colour and detail captured,
Fred.
Another lovely image Trev.
Sony say they understand the disappointment their mistake may have caused you but I doubt that they really do, it's bad management on their part to let that happen, to raise someone's hopes like that then drop a bombshell on them, but look on the bright side, you've still done exceptionally well and for all we know your image may have come in 11th, just missing the top 10?, still something we mere mortals can only dream about and now you're a World famous photographer ![]()
Geoff.
A wonderful image of the great tit Trevor.
So sorry about the mix up.
What I'd like to understand is - did you receive the second letter after you declared you could not find your original
image or did it come before that?. I hope I've understood the whole mix up.
I think it's extremely bad that the first letter was sent to you at all, if it was sent in error, but as everybody says to be in top 50 is still a superb achievement.

That's such a pity and may I echo Geoff's remarks, Trev, as I agree with his comment in toto.
Nevertheless, although disappointing for you in the extreme, it is still a great honour for you to have achieved what you have, so congratulations are still in order.
And a nice wee birdie for us today, head on but with it looking across the frame.
Ronnie.
Unforgivable......
How can they be so inefficient...
My sincere thoughts are with you.
How incompetent of them...........it must be really upsetting for you.............it is a great image and deserves its place in the top 50.................![]()

What a disappointment. To get in the top 50 is a wonderful achievement, but the way you were built up and let down is unforgivably bad management.
Dave

Commiserations and all that - I think they should stand by their word and if nothing else give you the money promised in the first place Trev unforgivable to make such a boo boo and not give you some compensation - totally unheard of and in my book apologies are not sufficient, not only disappointing but a real let down!
Good great tit image
Perhaps the 400 aforementioned related to another competition! Still pretty disgusting and some consolation would have been nice however small.
Shame to hear you were given the wrong info
Super presentation here though, Trev ![]()
