A close up of a green bottle dining on what looks like chocolate sponge and custard, taken at Renishaw Hall in Derbyshire...

Mode - aperture priority.
Aperture - f3.5.
Shutter speed - 1/400.
Macro mode - super macro.
Taken hand held.

The grounds to the hall are definitely worth a visit, there are numerous sculptures - monuments and butterfly bushes to explore. The house was home to the Sitwell family who appear to have strong artistic inclinations judging by the the photography and memorabelia within the museums...

I like the light on the wing here and the way that the green metallic body of the fly looks almost mechanical...

Hope you like this - best large.

So much for the rule of 2/3's. It's great when rules are broken and the result works!

Super capture, it does look like a pudding of some sort and the fly's licking his lips ready to tuck in! I must have a look around here, I've never been and it's only really around the corner for us! Lyns x

Thanks everyone...

Thought it looked like the fly had been riding on a chocolate sponge that had been dropped right in there making an enormous splash in the custard :O)

Was thinking the same thing myself. Nice macro with some good colours. The only niggle for me is that the pudding is slighlty off centre (as opposed to the fly which is more central). The pudding being off centre makes the surrounding custard uneven though. Also, a square crop might add more impact? I could of course be talking complete poo. Smile I'll mess with it later.

LOL Alex...

I agree about cropping - I ought to have seen the inbalance there; too much custard on one side!

I take it you mean that you'll mess with the picture :O)
