A very common Green Carpet Moth-Colostygia pectinataria....

The bright green colour of this moth when freshly emerged soon fades to a white-ish-brown. It inhabits a range of habitats, including heaths, mosses and woodland, and is generally common throughout most of Britain. Wingspan is about 25mm.

Hedgehog/Fox Update
Good news both the Dog fox and the Vixen made appearances on the cameras last night, but like the Hedgehogs most of the activity was in the very early hours of this morning. I was just pleased to see them both Grin No hedgehogs in the next boxes today, so cameras will be off until dusk this evening. If you do want a peek it might be best to wait until after 10pm, but who knows what might happen, after all it is 'Wildlife' and as such they can all be a bit unpredictable Tongue

The colouring when captured and before it fades is quite beautiful, as is the patterning on the wings: lovely detail as ever, Ade.
Ronnie.
