First digital montage I've done in ages. Three shots sky building and sea merged using layers and masks, match colour and a texture layer added at the end.
terrific.. very moody..
A Brilliant Image...lovely detail tones & manipulation.
Nice touch! I know this place too - wish it actually looked like this
Certainly catches the eye Pete ..... nicely put together and good to see the original components. The texture overlay works well and gives a nice painterly look to the sky. Just thinking it perhaps needs another element .... maybe some birds wheeling away in the sky just to finish it off?
Yep, it works well Pete. Havent done one for years, I use to enjoy montages following the tutorials in magazines, it was a fantastic way to learn Photoshop.
Great to see all the components.
Love this Pete, what a fab building.
Mr U has a valid point...birds...a full Moon maybe ?
Only teeny bits I'm not sure about are the lines across the bg texture, just perhaps a wee bit too much ( nit picking here ).
Well done for straightening up that building though & I love the colour palette.

Ade's got some.
Absolutely stunning Pete. Taking in to consideration i know that building well, this is a super piece of processing. Hope it does not come true though i split my wellies !!
Dave has a point. Some crows or ravens flying overhead might just bring this to another level.
I still have to get my act together and start working with layers and textures. Someone please increase the hours in the day to 36.
Nice one Pete.
Super instructional idea - thanks.
Lots of mystery here. Wonderful tones, I really like this...........Sandy
Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

lol I put three in before i uploaded this and they didn't look right so left them out...thing is the only birds I have in flight are pigeons and they looked stupid. Right - action point - I must shoot some crows.

Absolutely right...I was being lazy :-( I'm going to redo that texture without the lines as they don't always work.
wish i could do things with layers and such, i`ve just about mastered windows "paint" lol, but a truly great image though, well done.
Nicely conceived and produced, all from a very good idea.
Very cleverly done. I wouldn't know how to begin to construct an image like this. The effect is amazing.
Wow, wow and more wow! My kind of image! Superb!
How good is that ! superb work.
Works for me, there are some pretty decent bird in flight brushes around on t'internet.

Lol I never thought of that option...but I will shoot my own...I prefer to have 100% of the creation where possible
Great shot !!!....looks mighty sinister from that dark mood !, go through that gate & never come back ?????
Green Lane certainly works in this image Pete. Great atmosphere, very well worked.
Great work I wouldn't have a clue as to how to do it
Great work Pete, you have some great photoshop skills that's for sure.
Love to see you develope these skills
An excellent powerful, very effective result!
Nice work here Pete, very nicely processed.

Fantasic!!!! Very well put together!!! Really like it
Like it a lot.
