A bit of a digression from my last few uploads. One of the very few butterflies I saw on Mull.
Thanks for the T&C's on Salen Bay, much appreciated.

Lots of detail here Fraser. They all seemed to appear a while back and then vanish quickly.

There's a story on the butterfly shortage in todays Herald Fraser.
Thanks all.
We did find one colony of ringlets on Mull, but they were so flighty I didn't get a chance to get a decent photo. We also saw quite a few varieties in the second week of our holiday in Dumfries and Galloway and we've had a handful of red admirals and peacocks in the garden in the last few days. Overall, though, I think they did seem to be more absent than present this year; hopefully temporary after a really poor summer.
