Taken a couple of years ago on Flamborough North Landing. I wanted to try some more tone-mapping, and with very little new stuff to inspire me I had a crack at this image.

I like the extreme angle, i think I may have overlooked it previously because I've cropped the very front of the boat, but, I think the rest of the shot just about makes up for it.

No doubt this would make a strong mono image, so all you excellent converters, please have a go! I'll have to think about a reward for the best! (One of Nick's legendary virtual mars bars maybe!)

Uploading and running tonight, Mansfield town are playing, with no manager it could be interesting-how many will we lose by?

All comments welcome, thanks for looking.

Jon.

Waow, amazing shot and very good of framing. I only have a small screen (am on the move) and I find maybe the top left of the photo a bit dark to my taste. Nevertheless if I could shot something remotely as good, I would be really proud!

Thank you for sharing this shot with us,

Stef

Great effort. Did you use a single exposure to tonemap this in photomatix? If so you have avoided noise really well. Well done.

James,
Yes a single shot tone mapped in Photomatix, I did two separate conversions though. Detail enhanced and tone compression which I find kinder to the sky.
I also did a normal conversion to tone down the very grainy parts of the shot.

Is that a heavy blue sky I see? lol.
It is extreme Jon but works because of it.

How right you are Rich, a terrible night for the Stags, a poor night for the mighty Reds too. Lincoln did well! (Poor County hehehe.)

Back to the heavy skies Nick! LOL.

Ta all for the comments this has really surprised me.
