Well done, light and soft colors are just great...everything work great here...
A Stunning model + a great photographer = a wonderful result!
Lovely light.
You achieved your aim. Excellent!.... Suspect motivation from Renoir?
Really very good indeed....all has already been said. Well done
Quote: Absolutely beautiful. Looks like an old master.Congratulations on all your awards.
I'll second that!
Quote: I actually took this 18 months ago, only just got round to editing it.
Gosh, do you have any other masterpieces sitting unused on your hard drive? Show us! ![]()
Lovely Image well thought out , Love the contrast between the rugged textured background and the pin sharp model in the foreground , Lovely technique Brilliant .........Kev
Superb shot - many congratulations on being POTW

Quote: Excellent & beautiful image Ken. Renoir? I'd say more reminiscent of the Dutch artist Vermeer ..... master of the single point light source in intimate domestic scenes.
Excelent & beautiful (Oh, already said that
)
Dave B.
Yes, I thought Vermeer instantly too - the subject, the lighting, the colours and even the ceramics all nod to Vermeer.
I can only suppose the influence is subconscious, Ken - but it's very strong.
That's not a bad thing in any way, in fact it's quite remarkable you've achieved such a striking evocation of Vermeer without consciously aiming for it. Wish I could do that...
In my youth I worked at an arts shop and did see a fine arts image with bowl and pitcher very similar to your delightful work here. In fact your background looks so like the oils on canvas version from the 1700s yet I can not recall the painter's name. A better memory than mine will inform us... An image to re-visit. TG

I wasn't thinking of any specific image when I said this reminded me of Vermeer - it's an overall thing in the lighting and subject. Obviously I don't know what painting it is you're remembering, but this is one of Vermeer's more famous pictures - ring any bells?
See here.

A pleasure to see and muse over this classic once again, thanks to Rochford's comment. TG
