Just a little spot I saw as I was hanging loose down at the harbour in Dunbar.
(Observant ones will notice a little something on the cobbles here, and yes I did get a pic of it !!)

You don't often give us a bit of context, Mick (too arty-farty for ya?).
Nice dof here, as well as excellent detail on the well hung bit.
Can't quite work out what it is for - but it sure is a great capture and a lovely bit of the red stuff ![]()

The padlock looks a bit new Mick, you sure you never put it there

Cracking shot Mick, great textures and tones, well spotted and captured.

Wow, pendulous rust! I like the background too, sufficiently blurred not to distract but with enough detail to add interest.
Must be a valuable padlock to chain it up like that. Definitely well hung!
Dave
Like the clarity, comp & DOF & the hanging padlock adds a nice touch.. Very well captured
At a loose end again, Mick?
Superb composition and a usefully shallow dof. Very nicely done indeed.

Bill
Hanging loose maybe, but above it, that teasing crooked finger restraining the chain. Ooh I love that detail.
So, the rusty ring still to come...

I had to look at this large as I thought that brown lump in the background might have been from a dog, Thank heavens I looked at it large I now can look forward to a picture where it is starring,,, phew!
And do like the simplicity of this well hung image.
Great use of depth of field here Mick, really makes the rust leap out at you! ![]()

The padlock appears a little redundant there Mick.
It looks like the corrosion is slowly creeping up the chain and beginning to take over the painted post. It reminds me of the scene in The Matrix, just after Keanu Reeves character has taken the tablet and the mirror begins to envelope him.
Great shot, looking forward to the ring on the floor.
Andy
I like the title to this smashing little find Mick, nice comp' mate.

Reading through all the comments, I thought of Lock On as a title for this shot. This in turn made me think of when I worked in the hospital and we had to do restraints on violent folk. We had to do certain moves individually while other staff held on. One of these actions was applying locks to the wrists, then we had to say 'Lock on' so that our colleagues knew we had secured our bit, and it was now their turn to do the same. Absolutely nothing to do with your shot!!!!!! Word association ![]()
.
Anyway I do see the thingy in the bg that you will show us in the future. Moira
I would have offered you a gold trophy, Mick, but gold doesn't change colour. So you will have to make do with my graffito-man from Krakow instead. He's enough to make anyone go red in the face![]()

Bill
Some great rust and textures here - I just wonder what use that lock is???
Johanna
Great find Mick, my better half likes your pics. She never shows much interest in mine. Jamie
A terrific study of rust Mick, it is good to let it hang loose, those tight trousers Mr Cowell wears can't do him any good!
That looks as useful as the lock I found last autumn on the mozzie lake...
And after amiting the chain of rusty event, I'm now very keen to see the little so thing closeup!
