A really nice shot. I would have been tempted to wait a little longer until the train was filling the frame a bit more. What say you?

This is the first of a set I captured of the locomotive powering up the gradient, the next one will fill the frame more but with a little less smoke as the locomotive is the centre of attraction in the frame.

Nice image.

I would not have waited personaly the points take the eye to the locomotive. I would have cropped the top of the image and taken out some of the smoke that has blown out, but that is my own view.

That said it looks like doing the homework has pulled off and you seem to have found a decent location.
